John A. Carmichael, Sr., 91, of Moultrie died Monday, July 11, 2016, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016, at 4 p.m., at Baker Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ken Anderson will officiate. Entombment will be at Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tommy Carmichael, Billy Carmichael, Randy Carmichael, Terry Grey, Russ McCurdy, and Bruce Vines. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. one hour prior to the funeral service. Born on May 12, 1925 in Tifton, GA., he was the son of the late Homer and Mabel Carmichael. He came to Moultrie in 1947 and opened Carmichael Parts Service in Moultrie, Ga. and expanded to Tifton, GA in 1975. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps., stationed in Amarillo, TX. He was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Moultrie. He was a member of the Moultrie Kiwanis Club and former member of the Moultrie Shriners. He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Carmichael; his parents, Homer and Mabel Carmichael; and 9 brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 70 yrs. Frances Daniel Carmichael of Moultrie; a son, John A Carmichael Jr., of Moultrie; a daughter, Janice Carmichael Rodgers and husband Joe, Jr., of Tifton; a grandson, Joe Rodgers, III, and wife Tasha of Moultrie;2 granddaughters, Shana Carmichael of Macon, and Katrina Carmichael of Moultrie; 5 great grandchildren, Julie Ann Sinclair, Kaylyn Sinclair, Conner Adderton, Isaac Adderton and Mia Rodgers; and his caretakers, Pam Rhodes and Jennifer Palmer.
