Mary Elizabeth Chafin Passmore (PICTURE) DOERUN Mary Elizabeth Chafin Passmore, 90, of Doerun, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Voyles and the Rev. Sammy Hiers. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Norman Park with Shannon Passmore, Chad Bauer, Reed Bauer, Blake Bauer, Clint Chafin and Daniel Chafin serving as pallbearers. Born Dec. 4, 1922, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of Allen Richard Chafin and Susie Belle Pitts Chafin. She was an inspector with Coats & Clarks of North American for 37 years. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Lester Passmore; a son, Lester Richard Passmore; brothers, Bobby Chafin, Ralph Chafin and Frank Chafin; and a grandson, Chad Sauls. Survivors include her son, Wayne Passmore and wife Jackie of Doerun; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Passmore Roberts and husband Joe of Norman Park; brothers, Mark Chafin & wife Helen, Moultrie; a sister, Lora Mae Brown of Waycross; Sisters: Lora Mae Brown, Waycross; grandchildren, Leisa Stone and husband Allen, Amy Cox and husband Joey, Rene Hardin and husband Danny, Dawn Bauer McIntyre and husband Chris, Shannon Passmore and wife Susan and Darron Stanford; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., thursday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home. The family may be contacted at the home of Wayne and Jackie Passmore, 590 Mt. Sinai Road in Doerun.
