Mary Dell Tanner Sloan, 92, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 6, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 8, 2023, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Tanner officiating. Jimmy Sloan, Jr., Kendall Sloan, Ray Sloan, Glenn Tanner, Randy Tanner, and Justin Harrison will serve as pallbearers. Bill Giles and Jack Hires will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at Wright’s Chapel Cemetery.
Born on August 10, 1930, in Rome, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James “Jim” Robert Tanner and Annie Mae Jones Tanner. She was a homemaker and was a faithful member of 70 years at New Hope Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee Sloan; son, Donnie Wandell Sloan; brothers, Clarence Tanner, Henry Tanner, Benny Tanner, Horace Tanner, and Wilburn Tanner; and sister, Thelma Tanner McDonald.
Mrs. Sloan is survived by her sons, Jimmy Randall Sloan and wife Joann, and Raymond Lavon Sloan and wife Leah both of Moultrie; daughter-in-law, Carole Sloan; grandchildren, Selina Sloan Bivins (Keven), Ray Sloan (Monica), David Sloan (Jackie), Jimmy Sloan, Jr., (Shelley), Shellie Harrison (Justin), Stacie McDaniel (Jamie), Alison Williams, Blake Gay (Katie), Brandon Gay (Kendra), and Beau Gay; 25 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 PM on Friday, April 7, 2023, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
