ADEL Sue G. Williams, 83, of Adel, Ga., died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Southern Senior Living Center. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at Leila United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donnie Sloan, the Rev. Ferrell Harper, and the Rev. Dan Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhill Cemetery in Quitman, Ga., with Raymond Baldree, Jimmy Rountree, Mike Bennett, Tim Jerry, Todd Griffin, Ricky Roberson and Stanley Griffin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Green, Ronald Parten, Stanley Williams, Joe Carrol Godwin and the Rev. Richard Nash. Born Oct. 20, 1928, in Hanceville, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Ota K. Gamble and Julia Ivela Parsons Gamble. She was a homemaker and a secretary for Lenox and Sparks schools for more than 30 years. She was a member of Leila United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Cartron; and brothers, Joe B. Gamble, Cecil Gamble, Kenneth C. Gamble and J.C. Gamble. Survivors include her husband of more than 65 years, the Rev. Richard Vernon "R.V." Williams of Adel; son, the Rev. O. Ken Williams and wife Mary Ann Sutton Williams of Adel; brother, Roy J. Gamble of Hanceville, Ala.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 28, at Purvis Funeral Home in Adel, Ga., and from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at Leila United Methodist Church, prior to service.
