Ann Moore Herndon, 80, of Moultrie, died Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Legacy Village at Park Regency.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11:00 am, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Paul Herndon, Rentz Murphy, Jack Gay, John Melvin Herndon, Julius Cox, and Aldine Hart will all serve as pallbearers.
Born on November 8, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William Hughes Moore and Ophelia Lewis Moore. Ann was unwavering in her commitment as a wife and mother and loved Moultrie and Colquitt County which she considered her true home. She enjoyed working at Napier's Flower Shop during her early retirement years. Mrs. Herndon was the past president of the Moultrie Junior Women's Club, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Moultrie and of the Christian Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Maxwell "Max" Herndon, Sr.
She is survived by her sons, Paul M. "Pete" Herndon, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, William Hughes Herndon, and Lewis Dees Herndon and wife Diane, all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Paul M. Herndon, III and wife Rachel, Mallory Herndon, and John Melvin Herndon, all of Moultrie; great grandchild, Maxwell Lonz Herndon; sister Peggy Mitchell of Barwick; sister in law, Mavis Murphy and husband Rentz of Moultrie; nephews, Thomas Murphy, Keith Murphy, and their families; and nieces, Vickie Mitchell, Nancy Weeks, Jeni Nelson, and their families. The family would like to express their debt of gratitude to the vigilant staff of Legacy Village at Park Regency and to the committed case workers and nursing staff of Southern Care Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 10am - until the hour of service in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
