Annie Mae Conger Lewis (photo) MOULTRIE - Annie Mae Conger Lewis, 79, of Moultrie, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 8 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Cashwell officiating. Honorary casketbearers will be the staff of Park Regency. Born on Sept. 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Conger and Lettie Hall Conger. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingwood Baptist Church. She was also a pink lady at Colquitt Regional Medical Center for several years. She was Commander of DAV Ladies Auxiliary. "She was lovingly known as Memme by her grandchildren. This name was given to her by her nephew Tracy Cosper. She loved working in flowers and cooking for her family," the family said. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Henry Lewis; brothers, Lewis Conger, Homer Conger, and Carrol Conger; and one sister, Ruby Conger Culpepper. Survivors include her son, Johnny Lewis and wife, Shirley, of Albany; daughters, Shirley Lewis Gordon and husband, Billy, of Moultrie, and Connie Lewis Richter of Moultrie; brothers, Gene Conger and wife, Marie, of Norman Park, and Roy Conger and wife, Ann, of Moultrie; sisters, Agnes Conger Graves and husband, Donald, of Conyers, Ga., and Margaret Peterson of Belvidere, Ill.; sisters-in-law;Norma Jean Conger and Linda Conger of Moultrie; grandchildren, William John Gordon of Moultrie, and Joseph Brent Jackson of Meigs; step-grandchildren, Kim Garrett and husband, Mercer, of Leesburg, and Brandon Rigsby and wife, Danielle, of Columbus; step-great-grandchildren, Austin Garrett of Leesburg, Aubrey Garrett of Leesburg, Tinsley Rigsby of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be one hour before the service. The family may be contacted at the home of Billy and Shirley Gordon, 554 Mt. Olive Church Road, Moultrie.
