Mrs. Bobbie Ann Barker, 78, of Norman Park passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at PruittHealth Magnolia Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 20, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Donnie Sloan and the Rev. Ed Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at Deep Bottom Cemetery, Norman Park. Pallbearers will be Van Holden, LaDon Conger, Allen Conger, Jake Hurst, Lewis Hurst and Victor Mercer. Born on October 29, 1937 in Ty Ty, GA, she married George Thomas Barker on February 19, 1954 and celebrated 62 years of marriage this year. Through out her long career she was employed as a Holiday Inn supervisor, a waitress, seamstress and punch press operator. She enjoyed watching family play sports, needle pointing, boating, traveling and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Barker; son, Steven Earl Barker; her parents, Earl B. and Clara Brooks Conger; her brother, Ronnie Lee Conger; great granddaughter, Zana; daughter-in-law, Kim Crosby Barker and brother-in-law, Darrell Tucker. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Ann Barker of Albany; sons, George Patrick Barker of Homer and Christopher Todd Barker (Cindy) of Norman Park; sisters, Earlene McDonald Powell (Van) of Sylvester; Jan Burgess (Jim) of Albany and Faye Tucker of Sumner; brothers, Johnny Conger (Cathy) of Norman Park, Tommy Conger (Shelly) of Omega, Huck Conger (Wanda) of Sumner; three grandchildren, Kimberly Wright (Nathaniel) of Moultrie; Shawn Barker (Ashleigh) of Homer and Betsey Jill Allen of Norman Park; six great grandchildren, Kahleah Anderson, Zackery and Malachi Wright, Kali Barker, Kobe and Lukas Dillard. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, August 19, at Baker Funeral Home. On Saturday, the family will receive family and friends at Christie's Cafe after the interment.
