Bro. Donnie Wandell Sloan

Bro. Donnie Wandell Sloan, 69, of Moultrie, passed away Tuesday July 18, 2017 at his residence. Funeral service will be held on Friday July 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Bro. Cagney Tanner and Bro. Kenneth Mathews officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Austin Batan, Alex Sloan, Kristopher Bivins, Sam Batan, Jorey Pyle and Timothy Tanner. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Tanner Glenn Tanner, Lavon Summerlin, Wayne Conger, Gerald Griffin and Billy Williams. Born on February 12,1948 in Moultrie, he was the son of Mary Dell Tanner Sloan and the late Raymond Lee Sloan. On October 10, 1986, he was ordained as a Minister by the Holiness Baptist Association and spent more than 30 years preaching the gospel. He was a member of New Hope Holiness Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Lee Sloan. Survivors include his wife, Carole Gay Sloan of Moultrie; sons, Donnie Ray Sloan and wife Monica of Camilla, David Sloan and wife Jackie of Moultrie; daughter, Selina Sloan Bivins and husband Keven of Moultrie; grandchildren, Austin Batan, Alex Sloan, Kristopher Bivins, Miranda Sloan, Jessica Sloan, Jasey Riggins, Jorey Pyle, and Joey Altero; great grandchildren, Alona Riggins, Matthew Riggins, and Mary Jane Pyle; mother, Mary Dell Tanner Sloan of Moultrie; brothers, Jimmy Sloan and wife Joann of Moultrie, Lavon Sloan and wife Leah of Moultrie. Visitation will be Thursday July 20, 2017 from 6pm-8pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. The family may be contacted at 655 Earnest Norman Road, Moultrie GA 31768.
