Carolyn Norman Keefer Maige of Moultrie, GA passed away peacefully January 16, 2019 at Dalton Place Assisted Living, in Dalton, GA. She was born February 22, 1921 in Moultrie to James Franklin and Blanche Butler Norman.
Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Blanche and J. Frank Norman, her brother, Jack Butler Norman, nephew Jack Butler Norman, Jr. and his son, Butler Norman, also by her husbands, Charles Henry Keefer, Jr. and William Lee Maige.
Her survivors are, daughter Carolyn Turner and Henry, sons Charles H. Keefer,III, and Franklin N. Keefer, grandson Henry and Karen Turner and great-grandchildren, Ivy, Austin and Brooks, and grandson Giles Norman Turner, nieces Beth Gilbert and Jim and children, Hannah Serwat and children. Also survived by nieces, Mary Brown and Nick Whitehurst and children, Josephine and Robert Dahl and children, and Betsy and Chris Pottle and children.
Carolyn attended Wesleyan College, and graduated from the University of Georgia. She and her husband and children lived in Coral Gables, FL for many years until1973. As a widow, she returned to Moultrie to live in her childhood residence and once more attend her home church Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed being active in the church and the community, in the Moultrie Service league, the Moultrie town committee of Colonial Dames of America and Colquitt County Arts Center.
A Memorial Service for her will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Trinitity Baptist Church Chapel at 2:00pm. The family will greet friends after the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may go to Trinity Baptist Church or any place of your choice.
