Carolyn Cooper Purvis, 71, of Metter, Georgia, died Monday, February 12, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 2:00 pm, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Josh Purvis officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Church Cemetery. Matt Purvis, Donnie Purvis, Dewayne Purvis, Brad Castleberry, David Plymel, and Harley Taylor, will all serve as pallbearers.
Born on October 22, 1952, in Baxley, Georgia, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Walter Cooper and Mildred Harrell Cooper. Carolyn found fulfillment as an Inspector at the Walmart Distribution Center in her professional life. With dedication and an immense attention to detail, she approached her work, ensuring that every product met the highest standards. Carolyn's commitment and precision earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Beyond her professional achievements, Carolyn's presence always brought warmth and comfort to those fortunate enough to know her. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Troy V. Purvis.
She is survived by her sons, Craig Purvis and wife April of Swainsboro, Keith Purvis of Statesboro, and Kevin Purvis of Metter; grandchildren, Kavery M. Purvis, Seth Purvis, and Payton Purvis; and a great-grandson, Wallace Purvis; sister in laws, Gaynel Purvis, Lynn Purvis, and Peggy Taylor and husband Harlan.
