Charles Edward Johnson

Charles Edward “Ed” Johnson, 87, of Omega, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Legacy Village in Tifton.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 14, 2021, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Tifton. Doug Ellis, Taylor Etheridge, Hunter Johnson, Chase Johnson, Chris Moore, and James Thompson will serve as pallbearers.
Born on September 29, 1933, in Lake City, Florida, he was the son of the late William Archie Johnson and Nannie Ashley Johnson. He was retired from the state highway department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Cox Johnson; brothers, John Albert Johnson, and Thomas Franklin Johnson; sisters, Lucile Nelemes, Pansy Ray, and Jean Hill.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his sons, Charles Faron Johnson and wife Moni of Omega, and Don Johnson and wife Kim of Iron City; daughter, Penny Lynn Johnson of Crosland; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
