Charles Henry Mercer

Charles Henry Mercer, 72, of Norman Park, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 17, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Truett, Charles Bannister, Raymond Bates, Jeb Griffin, Scooter Hurley, Kent Hamilton and Felton Mercer. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Garren and Chad Gay. Born June 15, 1939, in Norman Park, he was the son of the late Isaac Mercer and Annie Lou Vickers Mercer. He was a carpenter and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Isaac Mercer; and a daughter, Leslie Melinda Kopp. Survivors include sons, Jason Earl Mercer and wife Connie of Norman Park and Charles Richard Mercer of Augusta, Ga.; a daughter, Tonya Mercer Bozeman and husband Jody of Sumner, Ga.; brothers, Felton Mercer of Norman Park and Max Mercer and wife Barbara of Norman Park; a sister, Dilly Rowland and husband Pete of Norman Park; grandchildren, Rhett and Caleb Bozeman, Jaci Ana Mercer, Zachary Mercer, Tatum Mercer, Austin Mercer, Sarah Mercer, Hannah Mercer, Justin Mercer, Crystal Hurst and Chelsea Kopp; and two great-grandchildren, Candence Graham and Briana Mercer.
