Charles Allen “Chuck” Smith, 69, of Berlin, Ga passed away on March 1, 2,023 at his home. He was born July 28, 1,953 in Salina, Kansas to Charles Alan Smith and Minnie Octavia McKinney Smith. Born and raised traveling the world with his Air Force family, he left many friends scattered throughout. A 1971 graduate of Thomas County Central High School, he started traveling the world again, this time with bands in Florida such as The Outlaws and The Bellamy Brothers. He went on to travel with bands such as Ready for the World, Slayer and finally with Dwight Yoakum.
He was finally grounded when he married the love of his life, Jane, July 12, 2001, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren in Palm Springs, Florida. Daughter Amber Chism (Jim), son Joseph Tillman, 6 grandchildren, Chapman, Frannie, Clara, Blakely, Emma, and Caroline. Brother Tony Smith, Pavo, Ga, Sisters Beth Venables (David), Winter Garden, Fl, and Joy Smith, Thomasville, Ga. Mother-in-law, Polly Peek, Sisters-in-law June Croft and Wendy Frier. He was the Rocker Uncle to 15 nieces and nephews, great-uncle to 27 nieces and nephews; great-great uncle to 15 nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Martha Gail Bannister and Patricia L. Crosby.
The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 11th from 5 pm to 10 pm at the farm. The address is 6380 Airline Road, Pavo, GA.
