Reverend Charlie Odom, Jr., 83, of Moultrie, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2023, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky McLaughlin and Bro. Malcolm Parker officiating. He will be laid to rest at Baker/ Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Moultrie, Georgia. Benjamin McLaughlin, Blake Boutwell, Kendall Harris, Jerry Williams, Logan Barrett, and Jerry Dale Montgomery will all serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
Born on November 25, 1939, in Donalsonville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Charlie Odom, Sr. and Bertha Lee Broxton Odom. He was a carpenter by trade but was called to the ministry. He served faithfully as a minister, pastor, and evangelist. He was the former pastor of Christian Life Center, Baker Co. Assembly of God and several others. He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Moultrie Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Retha Mae Lamb Odom; son, Teddy “Ted” Leon Odom; daughter, Retha Rebakah “Becky” Lay; great-granddaughter, Isabella Hodnett; and son-in-law, Michael Hodnett; sister, Shirley Martin; and brothers, Earl Odom, and Steve Odom.
Mr. Odom is survived by his cherished daughters, Lisa Sheffield and husband Steve of Moultrie, Mary Brady and husband Jeff of Cairo, and Donna Hodnett of Moultrie; grandchildren, Chuck Odom and wife Anna, Lana Odom Morris and husband Jonathan, Kristi Griffin and husband Chris, Nicole Pearson and husband Johnathan, Kayla Burns and boyfriend Mike, Justin Hodnett and wife Becca Jo, Donna Lee Hodnett and fiancé Keath Eunice, Stevie Sheffield and wife Kristal, Josh Hodnett and wife Summer, Stephanie Sheffield, Jada Hodnett, Manny Hodnett, Levi Hodnett, and Tiffany Cook; great-grandkids, Chaz Odom, Cade Odom, Corbyn Odom, Sarah Morris, Alyssa Morris, Nora Morris, Everly Morris, Logan Griffin, Sadie-Grace Griffin, Levi Burns, Kristie Hodnett, Emma Hodnett, Madilyn Mims, Charlie Joe Hodnett,
