Charlotte Faye Wiard Dorminey,80, of Norman Park, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021, at South Georgia Medical Center
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Wiard and Bro. Roland Bamberg officiating. Allen Wiard, Mack Wiard, Charlie Wiard, Jacob Guthrie, Charlton Tyler, Cole Bryant, Thomas Doyon, and Jacob Pollock will serve as pallbearers. William Wiard, Sean Thompson, Nick Lassiter, and Justin Hickey will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born July 6, 1941, in Moultrie to the late Joseph Thomas Wiard and Ella Wiard. She was a private sitter for the elderly and of the Baptist Faith. She loved God, her brothers, sisters, and in-laws, her kids, grandkids, and great-grandbabies. She was known to many kids she kept over the years as well as her as grandkids as “nanny”. She loved gardening. You could always find her hiding in a flower bed somewhere around the yard. She also enjoyed word games and coloring games on her phone. She loved to laugh and joke with everyone. Someone said “you know one thing nanny was good at was finding a cute boy and making sure he didn’t sit alone” This also included her physicians whom she joked with even when she felt horrible.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Carroll Piland; 2nd husband, James Dorminey; son, James Carroll Piland; daughters, Martha Fay Piland, and Hope June Piland Doyon; brother, Buddy Wiard; and sister, Betty Wiard.
Mrs. Dorminey is survived by her sons, Carroll Dwayne Piland of Thomasville, and Joel Thomas Wiard and fiancée Cathi Thames of Milton, Florida; daughters, Thelma Jean Piland of Norman Park, and Angel Elaine Piland Royals of Norman Park; brothers, Lanier Wiard and wife Virginia of Moultrie, Bobby Wiard and wife Linda of Moultrie, and Dorsey Wiard and wife Dianne of Moultrie; sisters, Barbara May of Moultrie, and Patricia Tyler of Moultrie; grandchildren, Jessica Eleni Doyon and fiancé Nick Lassiter, Thomas Charles Doyon, Victoria Danielle Thompson and fiancé Jacob Guthrie, Tabathia Faye Pollock and husband Jacob, Hope Elaine Michelle Bryant and husband Cole, Rebecca Ann Piland, Samantha Piland, and Carroll Dwayne Piland, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Travis Kole Royals, Bryleigh Raye Thompson, Cotton Faye Pollock, Bentley Noah Thompson, Greyson Wyatt Brinson, Phillip Lee Pollock, and Chloe Arrabelle Guthrie.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, August 16, 2021, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
