Cherie Anne Carter Whiddon, 85, of Moultrie, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 21, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Addington officiating. A private family interment will follow. Casketbearers will be John Baker, Whiddon Henry, Carter Henry, James Henry, Will Henry, and Rich Tyndall. Born on July 27, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Levy Preston Carter and Wilma West Carter. She retired from the Colquitt County Health Department, was a memeber of Neille McDonald's Sunday school class, Flower Ministry and Stephen's Ministry, a Morning Glory Garden Club member, Colonial Dames member, memeber of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a Roundtable Book Club member, a Moultrie Service League Sustainer, and a member of several bridge clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Alton Jefferson Whiddon, Jr.; and her brother James Howard Carter. Survivors include her sons, Jeff Whiddon of Moultrie, and Carter Whiddon and wife Sherry of Tallahasse, Fla.; daughters, Sally Tyndall and husband David of Moultrie, and Anne Henry and Husband Russ of Valdosta; sister, Julianne Frohbert Chambliss and husband Saxby; brother, Preston Carter; and grandchildren, Sarah Robinson and husband Ben, of Houston, Tx., Rich Tyndall of West Point, N.Y., Ferrell Tyndall of Moultrie, Anna Peterson and husband Corey of Tallahassee, Fla., Abby Whiddon of Tallahassee, Fla., Whiddon, Carter, James, and Will Henry of Valdosta. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church. Baker Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
