Clayton Charlie Kelley, 87, of Boca Raton, Florida, formerly of Moultrie, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the home of his daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, with Reverend Paul Milligan officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery. Kenny Kelley, Wayne Kelley, Bill Eddings, Christopher Johnson, Chas Whalen, and Gavin Miles will all serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends and family one hour before the service in the funeral home chapel.
Born on September 26, 1936, in Colquitt Co., Georgia, Clayton was the son of the late John Kelley and Quida Avery Kelley. Clayton worked as a skilled diesel mechanic for Kelly Tractor Co., where his expertise and work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His passion for machinery was matched only by his love for his family, who were always his top priority. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. A proud veteran, He served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960. His time in the military instilled values of integrity and service that he carried throughout his life. A devoted member of the Lakeside Assembly of God, Clayton found great joy in his faith and the community it provided. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Doris Allen Kelley; granddaughter, Christina Lynn Johnson; brothers, Roger Wayne Kelley, Sr., Raymond Kelley, and Terry Kelley; and sisters, Nadine Jones and Margie Plymel.
Mr. Kelley is survived by his two daughters, Donna Kelley Whalen and husband Chris of Boca Raton, Florida, and Deborah Kelley Johnson and husband Rodney of East Palatka, Florida; grandchildren Christopher Johnson, Teri Munro Spiro, Chas Whalen, and Brittany Whalen; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin Miles and Vivee Spiro; brother Kenny Kelley and wife Charlotte of Moultrie; and sister Margaret Eddings and husband Bill of Greenville, SC.
