Cleatis Taylor Burgess

Cleatis Taylor Burgess,96, of Meigs, died Saturday, August 15, 2020 at his residence.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 21, 2020 at Zion Grove cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Burgess officiating.
Mr. Burgess was born on January 16, 1924 in Brooks, Co., GA, he was the son of Lacy Burgess and Sally Pyle Burgess. He was a meat cutter for Sunnyland Packing Company for over 31 years. Mr. Burgess was a World War ll veteran serving in both the United States Army and United States Airforce and was a member of Zion Grove Assembly for over 84 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Elizabeth Vinson Burgess; son, Cleatis Lynn Burgess; daughter, Jerry Etteenn Burgess Anderson; 11 brothers and sisters.
Mr. Burgess is survived by his son, Jimmy Jonathan Burgess of Meigs; son in law, Malcolm Anderson of Meigs; grandchildren, Tami Lynn Anderson Mirabzadeh and husband Chris, Malcolm Vonkrogh Anderson lll and wife Mae, and Alex Burgess Anderson; great grandchildren, Abrahim Jeramiah Mirabzadeh, and Isabella Gaia Mirabzadeh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
