MOULTRIE - Clifton 'Farrell' Giddens, 80, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at his residence. Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bobby Wiard, Elder Roger McDonald, and Pastor Roland Bamberg officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Garden. Casketbearers will be David Plymel, Donnie Purvis, Dewayne Purvis, Bryan Giddens, Michael Senkbeil, and Wade McDonald. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Freeman, Chris Williams, Ray Gene Williams, Dorsey Wiard, Ronnie Wilkes, and Charlie Wiard. Born on Sept. 28, 1935, in Funston, he was the son of the late Elder Harvey William Giddens and Lillian Louise Ragan Giddens. He was a self employed plumber, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and deacon and member of New Jerusalem Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Johnny Giddens. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Reba Williams Giddens, of Moultrie; his daughter, Wanda G. Purvis and husband Ricky, of Moultrie; brother, James Winfred Giddens of Moultrie; sisters, Monteen Hampton of Norman Park, Margie Shepperd and husband Charles of Valley, Ala., and Janice McDonald and husband Roger of Sylvester; grandson, Matthew 'Matt' Purvis and fiance Mary Beth Gray of Adel; and great-grandchildren, Matthew 'Knox' Purvis, and Sasha Gray. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
