Clyde Welch

George Clyde Welch, 99, of Moultrie, passed away at Legacy Village at Park Regency on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Hopewell Church Cemetery, with Reverend Julian Griner officiating.

Born on November 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Andrew T. Welch and Lillie Mae Reynolds Welch Hickman. Mr. Welch worked for the Colquitt County Correctional Institution and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Navy. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mercedes Basa Welch; son, Clyde Welch, Jr.; and daughter, Betty Jean Welch. 

Mr. Welch is survived by his son, Andrew H. Welch of Tallahassee; daughter, Mary Ann Welch Williams and husband Gene of Moultrie; grandchildren, Hayden Gliemmo and wife Cassie of Moultrie, Denim Gliemmo Wallace and Ryan of Columbus; and Laurel Williams and fiancé Lance Simmons; 10 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
