Cody A. Booth, 74, of Norman Park, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00 am in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Norman Park with Rev. Jimmy Voyles and Rev. Jody Jordan officiating. Interment with Military Honor and Masonic rites will follow at Deep Bottom Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Colby Booth, Chris Booth, Will Booth, Brett Booth, Jr., Harold Cook, and Brian Delk.
Born on May 30, 1944, in Worth County, he was the son of Essie Howard Hufstetler Booth and the late Eulan Wilson Booth. He was a 1962 graduate of Worth County High School, where he was involved in the FFA program where he credited Randolph Gibbs for all of his guidance. He was a member of the Doerun Masonic Lodge #151, Shriners, VFW, and the American Legion. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He served as a Sergeant serving a tour of Duty during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norman Park. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, outdoors activities, NASCAR races, all sporting games of his grandchildren, but most of all, his family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brother, Johnny Booth; grandparents, Charlie and Mattie Booth, and John and Sally Hufstetler.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carolyn Grantham Booth of Norman Park; daughters, Angela Booth Pezent (Lorin) and Jennifer Leigh Booth, both of Adel; grandsons, Cody Pezent, Austin Croft, Joseph Pezent, and Caleb Pezent; sisters, Faye Dent (Fred) of Sylvester, Geraldine Benson (Grady) of Eufaula, AL; brothers, Garlan Booth (Pat) of Tifton, Brett Booth, Sr. (Faye) of Sylvester, Paul Booth of Norman Park, Charles Booth (Gayle) of Sylvester, Ray Booth (Debbie) of Sylvester, Mitchell Booth and Jerry Booth, both of Norman Park.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 6pm-8pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
