Darrell Allan May (veteran) NORMAN PARK Darrell Allan May, 62, of Norman Park, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at his residence. A gathering of family and friends to remember Mr. May's life will be held 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, at Baker Funeral Home. He requested no formal service be held. Mr. May was born June 30, 1950, in Adel, Ga., to the late Vernon May and Velma Gibbs May. He was retired from the military, where he served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps and 18 years in the U.S. Army. He served in the Vietnam War and attained the rank of master sergeant, received numerous awards and citations for his service and served several years recruiting young men and women for the military. Survivors include a sister, Ava Nell Morrow and husband Hal of Dunwoody, Ga.; and brothers, Donald May and wife Gloria, David May and Dennis May, all of Norman Park.
