David Max Mercer

David Max Mercer, 83, of Norman Park, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 7, 2017 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Brett Jones, David Keigans, Jonathan Jones, Jeff Bridges, Matt Bridges and Cody Cofield. Born on May 5, 1934 in Norman Park, he was the son of the late Isaac Mercer and Annie Lou Vickers Mercer. He retired from U.S.D.A as a meat inspector and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Mercer. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Yonce Mercer of Norman Park; daughters, Cindy Jones and husband Brett of Watkinsville, Donna Mercer of Norman Park, Kim Bridges and husband Jeff of Norman Park, Diana Cofield and husband Bobby of Lagrange; grandchildren, Jonathan Jones and Fiancée Lisa Lowe, Jennifer Jones, Amanda McQueen, David Keigans and wife Amber, Matt Bridges and wife Layne, and Cody Cofield; great grandchildren, Hayden McQueen, Hailey McQueen, and Alana Keigans; brother, Felton Mercer of Norman Park; and sister, Dilly Rowland and husband Pete of Norman Park; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 2pm-3pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
