Dennis L. Waites

Dennis Lamar Waites, 56, of Norman Park, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2017 at Buck Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Voyles and Rev. Mike Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Church Cemetery in Cook Co. Casketbearers will be Mike Hampton, Denny Roberts, Marty Weeks, Tim Waites, Victor Martin and Chad Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dink Roberts, Donnie Roberts, Tony Crawley and Ardie Perry. Born March 29, 1960 in Moultrie, GA, he was the son of E.L. Waites and Carolyn Crumpton Waites. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jammie Len Waites; grandparents, Clarence Waites and Lola Waites and grandfather, Irvin Crumpton. Survivors include his wife, Carol Rountree Waites of Norman Park; son, Burt Waites of Norman Park; daughter, Katie Waites of Norman Park; mother, Carolyn Crumpton Waites of Norman Park; father, E.L. Waites and wife Vickie of Norman Park; brother, Greg Waites and wife Ann of Norman Park; grandmother, Myrtice Suber of Norman Park; special uncle, Bobby Crumpton and wife Sharon of Reynolds, Georgia; sister in law, Marlene Van Brackle of Adel; brother in law, Denny Roberts of Sparks; nieces, Shelby Dickson of Texas, Lisa Bennett and husband Barry of North Carolina, Jeanie Salter and husband Ray of Sylvester, and Susie Van Brackle of Adel; and nephew, Jarrod Roberts and wife Mandy of Sparks; and seven great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, from 6pm-8pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
