Dewey "Bozo" Chastain

Dewey "Bozo" Chastain, 82, of Berlin, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Magnolia Manor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Ladson, Brandon Summerlin, Sean Ladson, Tracey Bennett, Darren Weldon, and Robbie Kennedy. Born on February 12, 1934 in Sautee, Georgia, he was the son of the late Garnett Chastain and Mamie Joe Murray Knight Chastain. He was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Eural Chastain, and Jerry Chastain; sister, Frances Chastain. Survivors include his sons, Daniel Howard Chastain of Moultrie, and Dewey Garnett Chastain and Leigh Ann Cowan of Little Rock, AR; daughter, Tamara "Tammy" Diane Houston, of Moultrie; grandchildren, Rebecca Chastain Summerlin and husband Brandon Summerlin, Rachael Bryant, Benjamin Chastain, Felisha Chastain; great grandchildren, Chloe Reese, Cadie Summerlin, Cason Bryant, Charlie Bryant, Gabriel Chastain, Da'sha Peterson, Ay'sha Peterson; brother, Avery Junior Murray of Cornelia; sisters, Ruby Capps of Murph, NC, Claire Sue Allen of Stanley, NC, Fannie Hunter, Bertha Murray, and Vergie Pilgrim, all of Cornelia. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6pm-8pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
