Don Wendell Croft, 84, of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Matt Peek and Reverend Brian Blackburn officiating. Bob Craft, Doug Howell, Bobby Eunice, Jerry Smith, Calvin Perry, Johnny Hardin will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Barbara Gregory Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
Born on October 26, 1940, in Brooks, County, Georgia, he was the son of the late John and Eula Croft. Don was the proud owner of Don W. Croft Paint Contractors, a business he built with dedication and hard work. He was a man of great integrity, who made a lasting impact on everyone he met, both in his professional and personal life. Don’s love for his family was immeasurable, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was a devout man of God, whose faith played a guiding role throughout his life. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Moultrie. A proud veteran, Don served his country honorably in the United States Army. Don had a special love for his garden. His passion for plants and nature was evident in the beautiful gardens he cultivated, and he shared that love with his family and friends. Don leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and love. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margie Croft Norman.
Mr. Croft is survived by loving wife of 61 years, Sharon Miller Croft of Thomasville; daughters, Jennifer Croft Smith and husband J. Scott of Thomasville, and Jeanene Croft Wallace of Thomasville; grandchildren, Rachel Smith NeSmith and husband Jon Ellis, Rebekah Smith Campiglia and husband Parker, Nathan Croft Smith, Ethan Whitmire Wier, and Seth Croft Wier all of Thomasville; great-grandchild, Elijah James NeSmith; brother in law, Richard Norman of Moultrie; and nephew, Steven Norman of Stockbridge.
