Doretha Wilcox Walden, 94, of Berlin passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Magnolia Manor.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 5, 2020 at 11:00 am, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Marston officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Church cemetery.
Born on May 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Flossie Wilson Giles (Roy) and Luther Wilcox. She was married to the late J. Ralph Walden for over 65 years. She was an unequaled homemaker and a full partner in farming in support of her family. Mrs. Walden was an excellent seamstress, working for some time at Warners and Destiny Mobile Homes. She loved fishing, reading and gardening. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Aveta Giles Himshoot of Ft. Myers, Florida and two sons in law, George Saunders of Doerun and Don Callaway of Berlin.
She is survived by her three daughters, Gail Walden Dampier (Don) of Tallahassee, Florida, JoAnn Walden Callaway of Berlin, and Sue Walden Saunders of Doerun; five grandchildren, Doni Dampier of Niceville, Florida, David Dampier (Diana) of Sopchoppy, Florida, Julie Yearty Kim (Charles) of St Paul, MN, Lori Lindsey Parker (Jody) of Doerun, and Wendy Lindsey McGuirt (Michael) of Doerun. She especially loved her 13 great grandchildren, her two surviving sisters, Mary Louise Giles Skipper and Marth Giles Horne of Berlin, and two brothers, Keith Wilcox of Cincinnati, OH and James Roy Giles of Niota, TN.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 6pm - 8pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
