Dorothy Nelle Montgomery

Dorothy Nelle Montgomery, 91, of Moultrie, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Pruitt Health Magnolia Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Pastor RT Castleberry officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. TJ Roberts, Chris Beaty, Eddie Cook, Billy Lewis, Josh Burrows and Wade Dorminey will all serve as pallbearers.

Born on September 16, 1931, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late John Thurston McCall and Viola Gunn McCall. Mrs. Montgomery worked as an assistant director of the Moultrie Senior Center and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Montgomery; sons Jimmy Montgomery and Ricky Montgomery; and siblings, Johnny McCall, James McCall, Betty Hall, Fran Tatum, Boots McCall, and Dene Rowan.

Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her sons, Lynwood Montgomery of Moultrie and Alton Baker of Hazelhurst; grandchildren, Janeva Montgomery of Boston, Al Baker, Jr. and wife Mary of Moultrie, Harold Baker, Misty Baker, Melissa Wise and husband Johnny of Hazelhurst and Nikki Montgomery Harris of Norman Park; great-grandchildren, Gavin Baker and Chloe Baker; brother, Charlie McCall and wife Olivia of Brinson, Ga; sisters, Ethel Giddens of Blythe, California and Gloria Cook of Bainbridge; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
