Douglas Day

Douglas Day, 88, of Moultrie, died Monday, October 29, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall with Speaker Walter Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Casketbearers will be Doug Greenman, Jonathan Joiner, Jerry Ward, John Horne, Richard Felton, and Neal Kitchens.
Visitation will be held from 1pm - 2pm at the Kingdom Hall.
Born on September 16, 1930, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Jasper Ezekiel Day and Bessie Ann Carden Day. He was a self-employed TV repairman and was a Jehovah's Witness.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lummie Dewitt Nelms, Jr.; brothers, J.B. Day, George Day, Tommy Day; and sister, Lessie Lee Box.
He is survived by wife, Betty Jean Nelms Day of Moultrie; daughter, Amanda Gutierrez and husband Israel of Moultrie; grandchildren, Marc Anthony Gutierrez, and Austin Gutierrez; brothers, Ronald Day of Indiana, and Dennis Day of Moultrie; and sister, Jewell Weeks of St. Johns, Florida; and sister in law, Shelby Jean Nelms of Moultrie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
