Earnest Marlin Stowers, 81, of Moultrie, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Cashwell officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Wayne Jackson, Pete Gunn, David McCoy, Larry Abercrombie, Joey Gay, and Craig Kernaghan. Born on April 24, 1936, in Lithonia, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Martin Stowers and Eliza Annie Smith Stowers. He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service. He also worked at Riverside Manufacturing Co. and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Stowers, Joe Stowers, and Max Stowers. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Baker Stowers of Moultrie; daughters, Sonya Stowers Kernaghan and husband Craig of Dahlonega, Emily Stowers Gay of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Ashley Stowers, Kayla Scott, Ian Kernaghan; great grandchildren, X'zaviah Scott, Bryson Scott, Malayiah Scott, Makenna Scott, and Liam Kernaghan. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
