Elizabeth Louise Bynum

Elizabeth Louise Yates Bynum, 93, of Moultrie, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. 

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Hopewell Baptist Church with Reverend Josh Purvis and Mr. Joseph McKinnon officiating. Chase Lundy, Damon Yates, Keith Yates, Jimmy Gable, Tron Gable, and David Sexton will be pallbearers. Interment will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2024, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. 

Born on December 30, 1930, in Berlin, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John Yates and Stella Connell Yates. Mrs. Bynum retired from the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy McKinnon; sisters, Minnie Pearl Yates Mathis and Bernice Yates Blackburn; brothers, Willie Yates, Junie Yates, and Ray Yates; and son-in-law, Steve Belcher.

Mrs. Bynum is survived by her daughter, Martha Belcher of Moultrie; grandchildren, Joseph McKinnon and wife Melanie, John Belcher and wife Chrissie, Andrew Belcher and wife Shannon, and Stephanie Lundy and husband Chase; great-grandchildren, Addison Belcher, Cayden Collins, Elijah McKinnon, Josiah Belcher, Leah Claire Belcher, Ella Lundy, and Titus Belcher; brother, Lynwood Yates and wife Diane of Moultrie; son-in-law, Mark McKinnon of Norman Park; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
