Ernest Harper

Ernest Harper, 84, of Moultrie, passed away at Colquitt Manor on Thursday, March 13, 2025 surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

He was born on June 16, 1940, in Moultrie to the late Charlie Harper and Bobbie Howell Harper. For many years, he worked as a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. Outside of his work, he loved being in the great outdoors, particularly by the pond. He cherished the time spent there, whether he was fishing, reflecting, or simply enjoying the serenity of nature.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Sue Sutton Harper of Moultrie; children, Junior Harper of Jacksonville, Alabama, Ernestine Terrel of Jacksonville, Alabama, Jennifer Hancock and husband Cecil of Moultrie, and Karen Herod of Moultrie; brother, Bob Harper; grandchildren, Autumn Golden Bryant and husband Dwight of Moultrie, Christopher Herod, Ryan Herod, and Ashley Brown; great grandchildren, Maelynn Bryant, Alessa Kastelic, and Emmett Kastelic; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
