Ernest Newton Sellers, 80, of Sycamore, Ga., died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Unihealth Post Acute Care in Moultrie. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Kimball Methodist Church in Worth County with burial in Kimball Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Stilwell will officiate. The body will lie in state from 1 p.m. until the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Jason Boyd, Kevin Pierce Jr., Larry Crowe, DeWayne Sellers, Barry Spivey, Patrick Spivey, Spencer Ivey and Chad McDaniel. Mr. Sellers was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Worth County, Ga., son of the late Joseph Lewis Sellers and Nora Lydia Salter Sellers. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Duckworth Sellers; a brother, Bobby Sellers; and three sisters, Novella Spivey, Ethelene Walker and Nettie Ponder. Survivors include two brothers, Joseph Lewis "J.L." Sellers Jr. of Broxton, Ga., and Daniel Sellers and wife Vernie of Douglas, Ga.; one sister, Lavada Spivey of Doerun; a special niece and caregiver, Bertha and Kevin Pierce of Doerun; a special nephew and caregiver, Wesley Duckworth and wife Terry of Dawson, Ga.; special friends, Joyce Boyd, Brantley Boyd and Andrew Boyd of Sylvester; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, Jan. 3, at Baker Funeral Home. The family may be contacted at 711 N. Marlin St., Doerun, the home of Bertha and Kevin Pierce.
