Eunice Delilah Dampier Yearty MOULTRIE Eunice Delilah Dampier Yearty, 96, of Moultrie, died Monday, March 3, 2014, at Agape Healthcare and Rehab of Moultrie. Funeral services will be held at noon, on Thursday, March 6, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Erran F. Yearty, Shannon Jackson, Tony Happel, Donnie Scott, Keith Williams and Trey Dampier serving as pallbearers. Born June 24, 1917, in Berlin, she was the daughter of the late John Irwin Dampier and Renna Harnage Dampier. On Sept.. 2, 1933, she married Homer G. Yearty. They had four children, Elaine, Fain, Bobby, and Johnny. They lived most of their lives in Georgia except for a few years that they spent in Anaheim, Calif. They attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church for many years. She worked most of her married life as a waitress, cashier, and/or hostess in several different restaurants around Moultrie and Thomasville Ga. "She was known for her wonderful cooking skills, outgoing personality, and her amazing ability to keep her family and home in order. She was a rock for those who knew her and she was always there for anyone who might need her," her family remembered. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Gus Yearty; a son, Bobby A. Yearty; brothers, Leland Dampier, Berry Dampier, Philip Dampier, Jack Dampier and Bill Dampier; and sisters, Sally Nerine Croft, Maude Herndon, Betty Westberry and Addie Jean Tillman Long. Survivors include sons, H. Fain Yearty and wife Evelyn of Holt, Fla., and Johnny M. Yearty and wife Glenda of Albany, Ga.; a daughter, Elaine Williams of Jackson, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Yearty of Moultrie; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
