Faith was born on May 23, 1937 at Morristown, New Jersey to Rev. Harold and Jessie Ronson. She had three siblings, two of whom are deceased. Her younger sister lives in Toccoa, Georgia. During her childhood and teenage years, Faith was actively involved in her parent’s ministry in the states of New Jersey and New York as well as the province of Ontario and the Maritimes in Canada. She had a beautiful singing voice and frequently sang in the church, at special events and on the radio as a soloist.
Faith attended a number of schools and graduated from Grade Twelve in St. John, New Brunswick in June, 1955. She enjoyed visiting the aged and singing for them, during her school years she had several jobs which enabled her to apply to the Canadian Bible College in Regina, Saskatchewan, where she graduated in May of 1959.
At the age of ten, Faith became aware of a need for forgiveness of sin in her life and received Christ as her personal Savior. Shortly after, she dedicated her life to the Lord for overseas ministry. This focus guided her decisions and relationships during High School and led to her enrolling in the missions program at Canadian Bible College.
In May, 1957 a chance meeting at the close of the college year led to a friendship with Donald Scarrow, a college classmate; they were married on June 25, 1960 in Lumberton, North Carolina. Faith’s deep affection as a wife and mother and her love for the Lord was a significant blessing to Don over their 64 years of marriage in which God blessed them with three children; Jessie Lynn in 1961, Stephen Francis in 1964 and Daniel John in 1970.
Don and Faith first ministered to the Alliance congregation in Rosetown, Saskatchewan. Following a year of language study in Costa Rica, they served for forty years in Peru as missionaries with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in the areas of theological education, conference ministry, counseling and administration. After retiring in 2002, they were assigned for an additional three years as the Regional Director couple for Latin America. This responsibility involved the oversight of Alliance ministry in fourteen countries with 208 international workers. They retired to their home near Toccoa, GA in August, 2005. In the years that followed, Don and Faith were active in the Toccoa First Alliance church as well as serving on the Southeastern Accreditation Committee for seven years.
Faith is survived by her husband Donald John, daughter Jessie Lynn Scarrow Ritchey (Jonathan), sons Stephen Francis Scarrow (Andrea) and Daniel John Scarrow (Lisa); grandchildren Stephen John (Laurie), Caitlin Faith Ritchey Tripp (James), Justin Philip Ritchey, Alexander Nathaniel Scarrow, Caleb Timothy Scarrow and Joelle Elizabeth Grace Scarrow, great-grandchildren Sawyer John Scarrow and Henry Joel Norman Scarrow as well as her sister Elva Thompson of Toccoa, GA.
