Franklin Sutton

Jared Franklin Sutton, 90, of Norman Park, died Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Pruitt Health Magnolia Manor.


A funeral service was held at 11:00am Sunday July 19, 2020 at Buck Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Moree officiating and Charles Stines assisting. Interment will follow at Buck Creek Church Cemetery. Jason Sutton, Jeremy Sutton, Jeb Sutton, Darren Wright, Ricky Hembree, Dustin Hart, Mack Wiard, Glenn Chafin, and Owen Sutton serve as pallbearers. Anna Leigh Sutton, Abby Sutton, Audrey Sutton, Ada Sutton and Olivia Sutton will serve as honorary pallbearers.


Born on April 23,1930, in Norman Park, he was the son of the late J.Y. Sutton and Martha Baker Sutton. He was a former state senator from 1970-1982. He also owned his own business, Sutton System Sales, Inc. Mr. Sutton was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob Sutton; brother, Baker Sutton; sister Audrey Sutton; and brother in law, Eugene Pope.


Mr. Sutton is survived by his loving wife, Bobbery Pope Sutton of Norman Park; sons, Joel Sutton and wife Elizabeth of McDonough, James Sutton and wife Ellen of Norman Park, and John Paul Sutton and wife Kristi of Norman Park; grandchildren, Jason Sutton and wife Rachel of Norman Park, Jeremy Sutton and fiancée Samantha of Norman Park, Jeb Sutton of Atlanta, Anna Leigh Sutton of Norman Park, Abby Sutton of Norman Park, Audrey Sutton of McDonough, and Ada Sutton of Norman Park; great grandchildren, Owen Jacob Sutton and Olivia Marie Sutton both of Norman Park; special caregivers, Carolyn Edwards, and Jennifer "Cindy Lou" White; sister in law, Mae Pope.


Visitation was held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 5:00-7:00pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.


In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Buck Creek Baptist Church or Gideons Ministry.
