G.M. "Jack" Martin (PICTURE) (VETERAN) MOULTRIE G.M. "Jack" Martin, 83, of Moultrie, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Sylvester Health Care. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Jim Stevens, Brian Mincey, Jessy Ash, Luis Moreno, Jose Garcia and Charles Harper serving as pallbearers. Born April 10, 1929, in Wild Cherry, Ark., he was the son of the late Charles Earnest Martin and Sara Ellen Shelton Martin. He retired from the United States Army after 22 years, serving in the war in Korea. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Martin; daughters, Betty Martin Jones and Paula Martin Butcher; a brother, Bill Martin; and sisters, Willene Auttman and Georgiana Attinson. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Sauls Martin of Moultrie; a son, Don Paul Martin and wife Frankie of South Carolina; a daughter, Beth Martin Hill of Iowa; a sister, Regina Cannon of Wichita, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
