Garron Joe Wingate, 19, of Doerun, tragically passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Heritage Church with Reverend Jim Horne and Reverend Marlon Daniels officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later time in a private family gathering. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Moore, Hayden Hembree, Tucker Sparkman, Tanner Sparkman, Tyson Hobby, Ben Lewis, Levi Stanfill, Dylan Chapman, Rylan Howell, Asher Cox, and Luke Ellerbee.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
Born on January 25, 2006, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of Garrett Joe Wingate and Brooke Ellis Wingate. He was a proud graduate of Colquitt County High School, Class of 2024, where he excelled on the baseball field as a member of the Packers. His talent and dedication to the sport earned him the opportunity to continue his baseball career at Thomas University.
Beyond baseball, Garron had a deep love for the outdoors. He was an avid sportsman who found great joy in hunting deer, quail, and ducks. His adventurous spirit and passion for nature were evident in everything he did. Garron was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Norman Park, where his faith and love for God were an important part of his life. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends, creating memories that will be forever treasured.
In addition to his parents, Garrett and Brooke Wingate of Doerun, he is survived by his cherished brother, Davis Wingate of Doerun; grandparents, Gettis and Charlotte Wingate of Doerun, Connie and Mike Patterson of Moultrie, and Tony and Kathy Ellis of Moultrie; aunts, Amber Hanberry of Thomasville, and Mandy and Kevin Kinsey of Moultrie; cousins, Wynn Kinsey, Rynn Kinsey, Stone Hanberry, and Sonny Hanberry; special friend, Ada Sutton of Norman Park; and several aunts, uncles, and extended family friends.
