Gary Eugene Taylor, 62, of Coolidge, Georgia, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 26, 2022, in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky McLaughlin officiating. Mike Allen, Kolby Taylor, Kaden Canfield, Bryce Taylor, Martin Taylor and Lee Taylor will serve as pallbearers. Tyler Ragsdale and Matthew Ragsdale will serve as honorary pallbearers. He will be laid to rest at Baker/ Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Moultrie, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
Born on August 9, 1960, in Topeka, Kansas, he was the son of the late Wiley Martin Taylor and Betty Lee McLendon Taylor. He worked for Walmart Transportation as an over the road truck driver and served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Taylor was a member at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband and caring father. He loved to fish and spending time with his family. Mr. Taylor loved his mama’s cooking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Cody Canfield.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Sheila Canfield Taylor of Coolidge; son, Bryce Taylor of Thomasville; daughter, Krista Taylor of Hartsfield; step-children, Brandi Canfield and Kaden Canfield; grandchildren, Kolby Taylor and Kylan Taylor; sister, Delores Ragsdale and husband Nick of Cary, NC.; brothers, Mike Taylor and wife Joann of Thomasville, Martin Taylor and wife Trish of North Augusta and Melvin Taylor.
