Gene Kenlaw "Bill" Fender

Gene Kenlaw "Bill" Fender, age 80 of Ellenton, died Saturday July 13, 2019 in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday July 16, 2019 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Joshua Wagner, Patrick Wagner, Greg Hargraves, Matthew Fender, Justin Fender and Kirby Fender. Burial will be in Buck Creek Church Cemetery.
Born August 16, 1938 in Ellenton he was the son of the late Frank Fender, Jr. and Bertha Cooper Fender. He was retired truck driver for Wells Aluminum and former Mayor of Ellenton and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Rufus Fender, James Fender and Charles Fender.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Dempsey Fender of Ellenton; sons, Tim Fender, Ricky Fender and wife Vickie of Moultrie; daughter Cheryl Fender Wagner of Ellenton; brother, Billy Fender and wife Jean of Omega; sister, Hazel Hadley of Bragton, FL; 24 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00- 8:00 pm Monday July 15, 2019 at Baker Funeral Home.
