George Thomas Barker

NORMAN PARK - George Thomas Barker, 80, of Norman Park, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at Pruitt Health Magnolia Manor.  Pallbearers will be Rick Barker, Terry Barker, Buddy Conger, Tony Conger, Phillip Brinson, Tommy Key, and Wallace Hurst. Born on Nov. 21, 1935, in Moultrie, GA, he was the son of the late John Edgar Barker and Tressie Lucita Walker Barker. He was a farmer, a veteran of the Army and of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Earl Barker; brothers, Billy Barker, Carlton Barker, and Vernon Barker; sister, Tressie Mae Arnold; grandchild, Christopher Todd Barker; and great-grandchild, Zana Wright. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Ann Conger Barker; sons, George Patrick Barker of Homer, GA, and Christopher Todd Barker and wife Cindy of Norman Park; daughter, Gail Ann Barker of Albany; sister, Edna Moye of Norman Park; grandchildren, Kimberly Wright and husband Nathaniel of Moultrie, Shawn Barker and wife Ashleigh of Homer, GA, and Betsey Jill Allen of Norman Park; and great-grandchildren, Kahleah Anderson, Malachi Wright, Zachery Wright, Kali Barker, Kobe Dillard and Lukas Dillard.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
