George Daniel Johnson MOULTRIE George Daniel Johnson, 71, of Moultrie died Monday, July 22, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Baker Funeral Home with the Revs. James Williams and Robert Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Casketbearers are Ronnie Fields, Ricky Johnson, Marcus Johnson, Ricky Harper, Dean Gunsolus and Roy Dale Harper. Honorary Pallbearers are the grandchildren. Born May 28, 1942, in Colquitt County, Johnson was the son of the late Murrey Stephen Johnson and the late Millie Overa Crosby Johnson. He was a retired maintenance foreman with the Georgia Department of Transportation and an active member of Westside Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Julian Wayne Johnson and Murray S. Johnson Jr.; five sisters, Missouri Massey, Clara Jones, Maggie Jones, Myrtice Newton and Bernice Lopez; and two sisters-in-law, Lena Johnson and Almeda Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Ellie Jo Johnson; three sons, Michael Daniel Johnson and wife Sheila, George Steve Johnson, and Jody Len Johnson and wife Madeline Inez, all of Moultrie; two brothers, Mark Johnson, Gene Johnson and wife Mary both of Moultrie; a sister, Dora Bragg and husband Merlin of Albany; a sister-in-law, Karen Johnson of Moultrie; and grandchildren Chrysti Conley, Casey Owens, Melissa King, Mae Anderson, Stephenie Gunsolus, Lance Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Hunter Johnson and Vanessa M. Hutton; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m.-8 p.m. tonight. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
