Gladys Ruth Griffin Hickman

Gladys Ruth Griffin Hickman, 86, of Norman Park, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday October 24, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at First Baptist Church Norman Park with Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating and Rev. Shane Ashley assisting. Interment will follow in Deep Bottom Cemetery in Norman Park. Casketbearers will be Glenn Hickman, Ronnie Hickman, Edward Sanders, Dicky Kirkley, Carl Wesley Horne and Wesley Key. Born December 1, 1929 in Dooly Co., Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Coley Lester Griffin and Sally Dorough Griffin. She retired from Riverside Manufacturing Co. with over 42 years and was a member of First Baptist Church Norman Park for over 50 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Russell Hickman; two brothers, Howard Griffin and Alvin Griffin and five sisters, Frances Sanders, Annie Lou Griffin, Elsie Kierbow, Lois Davis and Eunice Patterson. Survivors include her son, Billy Hickman and wife Melanie of Moultrie; daughter, Deloris Hickman of Norman Park; grandchildren, Carrie Hickman Cocke and husband Jacob of Valdosta and Justin Hickman of Jacksonville; great grandchildren, Clara Jane Cocke and Lola Beth Cocke. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at First Baptist Church Norman Park.
