Harold Felton Ivey, 71, of Norman Park, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at his residence. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at Norman Park Baptist Church with burial at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Shane Ashley will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Voyles. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Whisnant, Donnie Weeks, Grady Weeks, Tony Lasseter, Benjie Deloach and Alan Howard. Mr. Ivey was born Jan. 11, 1941, in Norman Park to the late John Henry Ivey and Louise Mercer Ivey. He was a farmer and owner/operator of Samara Plantation and Shooting Preserve Inc. He was a veteran and a member and deacon of Norman Park Baptist Church. "He loved his Georgia Bulldogs," his family recalled. "He loved doing things for others, wanting everyone to be happy." Survivors include his wife, Judy Langley Ivey of Norman Park; one son, Hal Ivey and wife Crystal of Sumner, Ga.; one daughter, Valerie Bennett and husband Justin of Norman Park; two sisters, Margaret Ann Daniels and husband Walter of Colquitt, Ga., and Jane May and husband Carl of Norman Park; and grandchildren, Hanna Ivey, Adam Ivey, Langley Bennett and Athen Bennett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Wandall Ivey.
