Helen Beatrice Thompson Cason, 91, of Norman Park, died Friday, June 15, 2012, at Agape Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, June 18, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville with Trampus Thompson, Cheyenne Thompson, Roger McDaniel, Ronnie Thompson, Marshall Thompson and Rudene Thompson serving as pallbearers. Born Jan. 4, 1921, in Heard County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Thompson and Eva Lois Shiflett Thompson. She was retired from the Thomas County School System and was a member of Weeks Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen "R.A." Cason; brothers, Huel Thompson, Louie Thompson, Bobby Thompson and Jack Thompson; brothers-in-law, Jack DeLaney, Frank Collins, Homer Baker and Ronald Sanders; and sister-in-law, Hazel Thompson Sapp. Survivors include brother, Billy Thompson and wife Joy of Moultrie ; sisters, Clarice DeLaney of Avon Park, Fla., Ina Collins of Moultrie, Thelma Baker of Norman Park, Margaret McDaniel and husband Taylor of Adel, Ga., and Faye Sanders of Albany, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Arlene Thompson of Putney, Ga., Joan Thompson of Norman Park and Sandra Lightfoot of Albany, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, June 18, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
