Henry Franklin Belcher, 88, of Moultrie, died Monday, December 10, 2018 at his residence. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of First Baptist Church Moultrie with Rev. Wayne Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Belcher, Andrew Belcher, Corey Bryant, Ron Cross, Matt Belcher, Jeb Griffin, A.J. Hood, Chad McDaniel. The ushers of First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.He was born in Moultrie, Georgia on November 16, 1930 to the late James Russell and Laura Ellis Belcher. He had lived in Moultrie most of his life. Frank graduated from Moultrie High School and had served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. Logistics Base in Albany, Georgia.Frank accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1961 and was a faithful member for 57 years at First Baptist Church in Moultrie. He was a Sunday School teacher in the children's department for several years and had also served as head usher/greeter until the decline of his health recently. Frank was very dedicated and faithful in everything that he did. He loved his family, enjoyed walking in downtown Moultrie in the mornings and enjoyed having meals with his friends and family. Frank especially loved his family and his wife of 62 years, Mary Thompson Belcher. They always enjoyed going camping in the Smokey Mountains around the Cherokee, North Carolina area. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, and a faithful servant to his Lord.Frank was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steve Belcher; brothers, J.R. Belcher, Albert Belcher, and Edgar Belcher; sisters, Mary Shehane, Helen Henning and Lucile Bannister; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.His surviving family including his wife of 62 years, Mary Thompson Belcher; daughters, Myra and Rodney Cross of Valdosta, Betty and Ricky Bryant of Moultrie; son, Robert and Cindy Belcher of Moultrie; daughter in law, Martha Bynum Belcher of Moultrie; grandchildren, Ron and Ashley Cross of Quitman, John and Chrissie Belcher of Augusta, Andrew and Shannon Belcher of Pelham, Stephanie Belcher and fiancé Chase Lundy of Macon, Dawn and Jeb Griffin of Norman Park, Corey and Nikki Bryant of Hartsfield, Matt Belcher of Doerun, and Savannah and A.J. Hood of Moultrie; great grandchildren, Kate, Juliette, and Bennett Cross, Josiah and Leah Claire Belcher, Addison Belcher, Gage and Madelyn Griffin, Walker Dean Bryant, and Hadlyn Hood; step grandchildren, Chad and Stacie McDaniel of Moultrie, and Derek and Katelyn McDaniel of Moultrie; step great grandchildren, Cayden Collins, Aubrey, London, and Landis McDaniel, Addie and Bailey Connell, Madison and Dalton McDaniel, Lyla Skeen; sister Edna and Joe Shanahan of Glen Burnie, MD; sisters in law, Shirley Belcher of Dothan, Judy Belcher of Pulaski, VA; brother in law, Charles Henning of Sarasota, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home from 6pm-8pm.Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice P.O.
