Howard Lee Castleberry (PICTURE) (VETERAN) ELLENTON Howard Lee Castleberry, 71, of Ellenton, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Folsom officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Brandon Flanigan, J. Fletcher, Matthew Fletcher, Lee Leverett, Stacy Leverett, Jesse Leverett and Ethan Leverett serving as pallbearers. Born in Ellenton, he was the son of the late John N. "J. N." Castleberry and Florence Beactrice "Beact" Castleberry. He was an independent retired truck driver and a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lou Folsom Castleberry; son, Ricky Flanigan; brothers, Robert, Alvin, Rufus and Leo Castleberry; and sisters, Susie Senterfitt and Norma Lee Gruber. Survivors include sons, John Castleberry, David Castleberry and Kim Flanigan and wife Kathy of Sparks; daughter, Marcia Littlefield and husband John of Alabama; brothers, Ray Castleberry and wife Kate, of Tennessee; sisters, Madie Hopson of Ellenton, and Myrtice Bunn and husband Albert of Ellenton; grandchildren, Misty Humphries, Brandon Flanigan, J. Fletcher and Matthew Fletcher; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Dec. 11, at the funeral home.
