Hoyt Serell Hancock, 86, of Moultrie, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Hancock officiating. Interment will follow at Deep Bottom Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randall Salter, Craig Boozer, Lonnie Salter, Larry Wiley, Steve Casteel, and Willie Smith. Honorary Pallbearer will be Ronnie Boyd. Born July 23, 1931 in Colquitt Co., he was the son of the late Sidney Hancock and Stella Horne Hancock. He retired from the United States Postal Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene Hancock, an Omar Hancock; and sister, Solita Stewart. Survivors include his wife, Mae Dell Salter Hancock of Moultrie; son, David Serell Hancock of Moultrie; daughter, Debbie Hancock Eakins and husband John of Moultrie; grandchildren, Matt Eakins, Trey Eakins and wife Nikie, Kim Johnson and husband Kevin; great grandchildren, Trace Eakins, Kelsey Brady, Alexis Brady, Emilie Daye Braswell, and Drew Braswell; brother, Jerry Hancock and wife Janice of Albany; and sister Sue Hall and husband Jack of Norman Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
