Ila Voncile Newton Massey (photo) MOULTRIE - Ila Voncile Newton Massey, 74, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at her residence. Services will be Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Massey assisted by the Rev. Eddie Dees officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Born on Jan. 24, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Richard V. Newton and Myrtice Johnson Newton, She was a retired seamstress and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. "J.C." Massey; a daughter, Juanita Cox; her brother, Ray Newton; and one grandchild, Blake Harris. Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Massey Moss of Moultrie, and Laurie Harris and husband, Edward, of Norman Park; sister, Ann Horne of Moultrie; son-in-law, Matthew Cox; special friend, Frank Weldon of Pavo; grandchildren, Christopher Adams, Rodney Harris and wife, Latoya, Voncile Gibbs and husband, Robby, Robert Meads and wife, Tabatha, Shanna Hill and husband, Ricky, Crystal Harris and fiancé, Brad King, Dovie Cox, Johnny Cox Jr. and wife, Misty, and Travis Harris; and 27 great-grandchildren.
