Ivey Doyle Carlton, 87, of Norman Park, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be held will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 19, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Norman Park with Rev. Jimmy Voyles and Rev. Jody Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/ Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Mark Bennett, Bob Bennett, Ryan Diers, Rodney Traylor, Carl Wesley Horne, and Stacy Middlebrooks. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Gene Powell, Clarence Lowe, Buddy Sutton, Russell Johnson, Roger Tillman, Larry Carlton, and Sonny Carlton. Born on May 24, 1930, in Coolidge, Georgia, he was the son of the late Eustas Wright Carlton and Evelyn Carlton Norton. Mr. Carlton was a farmer for many years. He was recognized as Farmer of the Year. He also was a Mason for many years, the owner of Doyle Carlton Company, and was a co-owner of Norman Park Gin warehouse. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Norman Park where he served as the chairman of deacon's numerous times, taught the Adult Men Sunday School Class, and served as the finance chairman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Syble Carter Carlton, brothers, Horace Carlton, Reid Carlton, and Gene Carlton; a sister, Ruby Robinson; and a great grandson, Cruz Gregory. Survivors include his son, Clint Carlton and wife Rhonda of Perry, FL; daughters, Diana Carlton Clark and husband Terry of Moultrie, and Mitzi Carlton Weeks and husband Donnie of Norman Park; grandchildren, Justin Weeks and wife Shellie, Ivey Weeks Gregory and husband Brad, Landi Clark Young and husband Brock, Chloe Bryant, Gracie Carlton, Taylor Gregory, Jessie Gregory, and Macy and Stuart Ely; great grandchildren, S.J. Weeks, Stirling Weeks, Case Gregory, Trip Gregory, Tuck Gregory, Beck Gregory, Amelia Gregory, and Charlie Young; and special caretakers, Keshuna Bonner, and Felicia Thomas.
